An accessible and inclusive compost bin design, ensuring information was easy to read and positioned for optimal visibility for all residents.

Client: DC Department of Public Works (DPW)
To support the District’s citywide composting initiative, I designed accessible and inclusive packaging for residential compost bins. My goal was to ensure every resident—regardless of age, language, or ability—could understand the purpose of the program and how to participate.

I created clear, easy-to-read layouts with intentional hierarchy, high-contrast typography, and placement guidelines that ensured visibility no matter where the bins were placed. The final design reinforced DPW’s visual identity while prioritizing readability and access across D.C.’s diverse communities.
